Confidence Levels

Confidence Levels

AfriGIS confidence levels range from 0 to 11 and indicate how precisely an address has been geocoded. The lower the level, the more accurate the result. Level 1 pinpoints the exact point of service delivery, whilst levels 2–5 narrow down to the land parcel, street intersection, or street segment. From level 6 onwards, the coordinate is placed at the centre of increasingly broader areas, from sublocality up to the entire country. A level of 0 means the location is unknown.
